Dr. Melina Jampolis, physician and nutrition specialist for CNN.com, claims that fruit contains about three times the calorie count of vegetables, and the consumption of half a cup of fruits daily might even lead to weight gain. Moreover, she adds that it can create a habit of having a snack after meals, that can make you ignore the fullness signals from the body.
Walking immediately after a meal might lead to acid reflux and indigestion. Therefore, experts recommend waiting for half an hour and then walking for no more than 10 minutes.
Usually, after eating a big meal, we get the idea that it is time to burn all those calories we have consumed, but that is certainly not the right time. Apparently, you should take some time to sit down and give the body the needed time to process the food before you start exercising, in order to prevent hiccups, acid reflux, and even vomiting and nausea.
The body needs energy and blood flow in order to be able to digest the consumed food. However, taking a shower after meals will make the brain force the blood to rush to the hands, feet, legs, and arms in order to moderate the temperature, and this will limit the needed blood flow for digestion.
